WORLD DAYS OF WETLANDS TO COURVILLE

Dug in the twelfth century by monks of the Abbey of Igny order to develop a fish farming, ponds Courville allowed the supply of any archbishopric of Reims.

Now, as a wetland, they have been designated under the RAMSAR convention, dedicated to the protection of wetlands worldwide. They host some 120 species of birds.

On Sunday 6 and Monday, February 7, 2011, the World Wetlands Day will explore depth of this site. Between 9.30am and 12am and between 13h30 and 17h, tours will introduce you to the wetlands, pond management and Courville, of course, the species that inhabit them.
