How Long Does It Take To Dry Sealant In Aquarium?

We're not in Kansas anymore, Kansas as the convoy concept

" I do not know where Kansas,
because I've never heard of this country.
But tell me, is what it is a civilized country? "

L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz , p.25

***

Somewhere in the middle of the United States of America is the State of Kansas, a nearly perfect rectangle of 340 km wide and 645 km long. It makes them the idea of a huge plain almost completely covered with large open fields where wheat grows. Small towns around which revolve isolated farms pierce the soil here and there along the straight roads running to the horizon always flat. What is known about the geography of Kansas, that is to say very little, its landscape and the occupancy of the inhabitants of the territory are, imagine that each of the locations in Kansas should be consistently and interchangeably referred to as "out there" as long as we do not live there himself - which, given the size of all the cities except Kansas Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City, is the situation of almost the entire population. Thus Truman Capote introduces the town of Holcomb in the early lines composure ( In Cold Blood, 1966): a backwater that others call "out there". Holcomb is in Kansas. There, 15 November 1959, four members of the Clutter family - father, mother, son and daughter - were killed with a resounding brutality.

Seriously, Kansas is certainly not as awful. In fact I would go, like everyone else. Everyone except perhaps the people of Kansas, who must dream than to leave. The problem with Kansas is that it knows almost nothing, that what one knows well that tells us knows almost nothing while Inviting little to bridging this gap. So in sticking to this brand of simplistic and mechanical remote area where everything and nothing happens, where the flatness of the area certainly offers great space but without their having any dramatic character ( these are not wilderness, they are great agricultural areas), which are confined to abstraction - from the near perfection of the rectangular draw its borders on the map to the obstinacy of roads and the horizon to stick inflexibly straight. A near-vacuum below which it would be in the desert arid Gobi type or on the ice. The position on the map of Greater Kansas City in the northeast corner of State unless it is in the top right, and the fact that the city is overwhelmingly located in the territory of neighboring Missouri , insidiously reinforces the idea of a territory that is evacuated, the people who crowded out of it and would rather not live in inhospitable landscape, giant-sized or combine rather than that of human being.

This ability of both to be mentally simplified and abstracted, provided by its geography, and other celebrity of some works it down or adding, which has in turn rendered proverbial, jointly and involuntarily moved out of Kansas field of reality physical - history and geography - for him to join the domain concepts. There is a concept, complex in Kansas. The existence of such a concept would certainly be denied by philosophers and by any serious person, because of the tremendous asset at its disposal: it is a concept whose existence depends on a formidable and delightful ignorance of what the foundation, a non-joint less necessary and quite inseparable from ignorance which makes it impossible. It is therefore very urgent to expose more detail.

" - And I want him to send me back to Kansas," said Dorothy.
- Where is Kansas? the man asked in surprise.
- I do not know, "replied Dorothy sorrowfully,
but my country and I'm sure it's somewhere. "

L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz , p.118

" Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore " (" Toto, I feel we're in Kansas anymore ") tells his dog the little Dorothy (played by Judy Garland) in the film The Wizard of Oz Victor Fleming (The Wizard of Oz , 1939). And for good reason, a tornado as it happens from time to time in the plains of Kansas has bled away his house with her and her dog Toto inside, and carried it all to the wonderful country of oz. When she was a familiar setting for plain and imperturbable monotone, Dorothy finds herself suddenly in the midst of a lush and beautiful, a landscape so rich that it seems obvious very quickly that this can not be Kansas. This reply (" Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore ") is the U.S. one of the most famous in the history of cinema, and as such there is a kind of saying. In the film Avatar, James Cameron (2009), a colonel and belligerent surviril welcomes trouffions recruited for a mission to shock with a quote from the reply, launching their " You're not in Kansas anymore " (" You're in Kansas anymore ). Story telling them they had to cut out, things became serious and upright guys wake up, he'll have to put a hit. That short, it does not laugh any more, they are no longer in Grandma is not to grease bread or sandwiches (sorry lack of an instant celebrity of expression from the francophone sphere, including more frequent use we may avoid some instances of far too vulgar, I think all would agree, " pull your fingers ass " and other " we will carve pipes later). This draws on the concept of negative Kansas: Kansas is also "so calm and normalcy, not requiring special vigilance and effort, and that there is no reason to expect surprises. Where as the Kansas region, certainly, but it bored when there is no fear of trouble and out of which the adventures is to say the problems began.

The concept of Kansas from the world of Wizard of Oz, Victor Fleming's film but also the novel by L. Frank Baum (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, 1900) whose film is based, also includes the notion of home, home to double the original sense of a place where people come and place of childhood, where there is never home because we grew up there, even though it is inhospitable. He even specifically articulates these two aspects is an inhospitable place where you are at home, which is its original home alone and as such we want to reach back home if adventure is the has left - as is the case Dorothy. The places of childhood for every child who grew up in Kansas are unsurpassable located in Kansas, as unbelievable as it may seem.

Where in the Land of Oz, the Scarecrow asks his companion to Dorothy to tell her his story, he follows this dialogue:

"She described So Kansas, how gray everything was there and how the cyclone had brought him to this strange land of Oz. Scarecrow he listened attentively and said:
- I can not understand why you want to leave this beautiful country, returning to this dry and gray as you call Kansas.
- Because you have no brains, "replied the girl. No matter whether at home, it's gray and gloomy, we who are made of flesh and blood would rather this stay in any other country, albeit the most beautiful. There is nothing like his country.
The Scarecrow sighed.
- Sure, I can not understand this, "he said. If your heads were stuffed with straw, like mine, you probably prefer to live in beautiful places and then Kansas would be completely depopulated. This is fortunate for Kansas that you have the brains. "(L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz , pp.44-45)

" There is nothing like his country. "(" There's No Place Like Home. ") Even when his country is Kansas.

***

" - If we go far enough, "said Dorothea,
we will ultimately arrive somewhere, I think. "
L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz , p.178

But Kansas is also, in addition to all this, and the case becomes quite twisted, a place where crimes are perpetuated horribly bloody. As if the open space of this country as empty and endless left a great place where you can deploy the mad violence. Kansas participates very honorably in the imagination of rural crime. The fact is that very quiet regions, where very few events have any chance of fame, do often talk about them outside their borders and connection with crimes that occurred there, and so the visibility of Kansas is somewhat dependent on the impact of various facts which he is the theater. As well as many Californians had to discover that Oklahoma was not just a name on the cards at the exodus to the West Dustball Refugees in the Great Depression, it is likely that millions of Americans have greatly advanced their knowledge of Kansas - raising them from almost zero to very low - in 1959 and sporadically thereafter, at the quadruple murder of the Clutter by Perry Smith and Richard Hickock, the home of a family in Holcomb, Kansas. These particularly violent murders and virtually free, and their primary sequences were very long and beautifully narrated by Truman Capote in his "true account of a multiple murder and its consequences, " composure .

The concept of Kansas is also the place of childhood, and this also in his criminal side. They are children of the country who are killed, and while they are still children. This adds even more resonance public crimes, horror increased by young age and vulnerability of victims, even more sensational events. Of the four victims of family Clutter, there was Nancy, fifteen, and Kenyon, sixteen years old. The extent and posterity composure Capote make Kansas is promoted as an imaginary scene of horrific murders rural, whose victims are families with children. The victims families killed in their home, that is like murder in the home. Kansas is home, a home to be brutally murdered when one is still a kid. The recent novel Dark Places , Gillian Flynn ( Dark Places, 2009), for its shadow, adds a stone edifice of the emergence of mad and murderous violence in Kansas lost, against a family comprising children in their homes during the night (as in the quadruple murder of the Clutter).

***

Some would say that synthesis between these different elements (the plain almost abstract, home late, the rural country boring, monotonous and sinister place, the normal situation, the country of the child and at once the archetypal landscape in which a family perhaps murdered) would be somewhat difficult, so we just here to find the minimum unit that requires concept. I do not know how to contradict them. Maybe I'm slightly excited by following the thread of a story as incredible and amazing that the reliefs of Kansas. That said, an element of the film The Big Lebowski , Joel and Ethan Coen (1998) contributes to the synthesis of all the known wishes. It shows, in a second episode, a private detective (played by Jon Polito) have a mission to bring back their daughter with her parents, in Moorhead, Minnesota - the young woman (played by Tara Reid) recently married old Californian billionaire. The way he intends to use to cook is to make it nostalgic for his home region by using photographs. One of them is a picture of his family farm, black and white photograph showing a naked and endless plain earthy, with no vegetation, on which there are two thin buildings lost in the midst of desolation. It turns out that this image is a reproduction of an illustration of one of the editions of cold blood by Truman Capote .

glossolalists (VIII)

A new recovery
(monthly theoretically but in fact very irregular) of some of the texts I write each day for the group blog the convoy glossolalists . This time, texts written between June 15, 2010 and July 15, 2010. The title above each of them lists the titles of note in which they were originally posted.

Reminder operation of convoy glossolalists : it is a group blog open to any and all volunteers. The authors publish texts consist of a single paragraph (no maximum or minimum length - just a paragraph, the text stops when it is full stop). The authors can publish texts on time, all they want (no more than one text a day though) and no particular pattern (publish once, a single text is available). Authors may also - they are even encouraged to do - decide to adopt a constraint on the frequency of publication of their texts. The frequency is then that they decided (not more than one text per day as well), and applies during the period they have previously chosen themselves.

The texts are published daily in a single ticket that includes all the paragraphs to be published today (the number is variable, depending on the frequency which have forced the authors, and occasional texts delivered). All authors' names is mentioned in a list in the right column of the blog, but each text is not explicitly attributed to its author.

We are currently twenty author (s) to participate in this blog, you can easily reach us by sending an email to convoiglossolales [at] gmail.com

I will draw the hat I'm not the one who demonstrate that the universe is shaped, the shape of a hat. Because it is the idea that I like most, it pleases me the most because it's one I just had. I just wonder about something that I could declare it faithfully reproduces the shape of the universe, but smaller, otherwise where would we, who are permanently contained in any article of manufacture? I asked myself and I really thought the pair of scissors, the corkscrew, the box of matches, the tennis racket and even the combine, but I stopped on the hat. I decided that it was the hat that would shape to be attributed to the entire universe, and the legitimacy of this award strictly demonstrated, for congratulations. The stakes are high for the scientific community, congratulations it is not nothing, I do not give like that, I had a friend Regional champion javelin throw, and when he did I was titrated 't bliss. He is still angry. Perhaps I acted foolishly at the time, but then I thought it would diminish the value of my congratulations, if I gave him from the Regional level, it's squandered thereafter. So I decided to wait he gets a good seat at the National level to congratulate him, and that is when this friend was no longer given the means to get one, and he even completely stopped throwing javelins, because he felt it did not interest anyone in his entourage. In short, a hat. Not a bowler, I do not think so, too spherical, too obvious. A Borsalino or rather Stetson, a high-hat in a pinch. Or a floppy hat, since the universe is perhaps moving form, say a bob. Better a bob a hat-slap to the shape of the universe, the hat-slap, a movement is too sudden, it's too risky.

We slept in the shed for several weeks without penalty because the temperatures were mild. Often, we drank the night, like good roommates, and indeed we were good roommates. Sometimes we drank more when the conversation dragged on, when we were in the mood to go to bed late. So in these cases, we drank a lot, and we wake up after noon the body stuck, contained the skull, an upset stomach in the smell of alcohol that we cuvions perhaps. A day after one of those nights, I woke up after noon, the body stuck, skull contained, an upset stomach in the smell of alcohol that I cuvais perhaps. I'm waking up first, but I did not hear anyone around me, no movement, no speech or snoring, so I thought that everyone had already left their beds and were out. A highly acidic odor permeated the air. I finally got up, not without effort and pain, trying to remind me last night, and failing to remember, except for some snippets of a conversation about axes and choppers that were in the hangar for a longer that we, and the wave picture of one of my comrades closing with chains the doors of the building that we occupied, as if afraid of someone or something outside. I had no other recollection. Finally standing up, I opened my eyes better despite the pain inflicted upon me the passage through them of light. My first glance was for axes and choppers on the ground bleeding, pain is made instantly and forget my eyes swept the whole panorama of the hangar. One of my friends split the skull was lying on a mattress soaked with blood. Another was in a corner of the building where another stagnant pool of blood, ripped open and arms folded over his head. The last of my three comrades were leaning against a door, legs stretched into a third large puddle of blood, and hands remained attached to the chains, which locks the exit, his neck and back were very deeply notched.

I sometimes dreamed of Brussels and other Belgian cities, Antwerp, Liege. I dreamed that I was there, I myself was running with a simple plan, looking like an illustration for children on the streets which were drawn in yellow and orange were organized in a star, radiating from a single central place. In dream, you walk carrying the heart of downtown in any neighborhood within minutes. In the dream, Brussels was a succession of images of Montpellier or Avignon perhaps, from Nantes and Rennes when there is nice winter. I was in Antwerp and Liege without knowing it, discovering it while I was there already, and looking at a lawn and a glass building in the gray sky that could be anywhere, and I said to myself that So this was Liege, it was so this Antwerp, but then unfortunately I had to return without seeing anything of these cities a little gray sky, a lawn and a glass building, without seeing Outremeuse not see the banks of the Scheldt. In the dream of Brussels, I wanted to see the places agreed by Jacques Brel, and more than all the space Brouckère. I had no time, without knowing my impediments, and I never found my way to the scene, the sequence of streets are changed to each of my movements. I've never seen or Antwerp or Liege, and Brussels only a few banks of the Midi station, the place never Brouckère.

With him, you could get skulls. This is what was said. Human skulls. It would have been a lot because he was convinced that it was useful, and that many were those who would use. Versions of the rumor was conflicting, and indeed we never saw more than ever in town. Those who said they had seen, heard him speak, seen to have offered him the skulls, the very few who even claimed to have entered his house and seeing the skulls in the basement "by tens of quantities and quantities, "all they ever claimed to have seen him alone, so that nobody could deny. A small town, and we saw him before so often to his walks, it was still very surprising not to find it. Perhaps it was this loss which had given rise to the rumor, or maybe it was because the rumor saying that he no longer seemed true.

pétrifères Animals have many advantages. Their ovoid body covered with thick gray scales on short legs, does not need to eat a few rounded pebbles per day. A few hours after the daily intake of these few stones, the small mouth they have on the end of their conical head, a ball-shaped body, whose size approaches that of a ordinary bowler, was expelled by their Ventral slot. If we form a pile with these balls, composed of many elements that we wish, but at least two, the brown shell covering each ball dissolves and body come together and aggregate in one, akin to the alabaster, which can control the final shape to the means of molds into which we piled the bodies secreted by animals pétrifères. The report used mineral / mineral product is very attractive, energetic and other needs animal are zero. I had to find someone, so they gave me friendly advice. I was told then that I was a morose, that the solution to my problems was easy to determine, I had to find someone. The recommendation would have been more clearly expressed, the friend on the phone said, "you have to find someone." There was not that of hermetic or cryptography, or what to look for 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.. Find Someone. Okay. Why not try? It looked simple, but as I had never tried before, I did not know quite how to begin. I had actually a very vague idea. In the street, I said, trying in the street Someone must be among the people, probably. I ventured a few friendly places to cross several people on the sidewalk: "Hello, Are You Somebody?" The first three or four people I asked told me that way, sorry, it does not seem to them, not , they were somebody, alas! As my method was very easy to run, and my first interlocutors quite courteous, I prolonged my approach without difficulty. Took me much good, since a young woman replied shortly that yes, it seemed that she was Somebody, until it was capable of certainty, it was almost certain to be someone. I returned at once to me, not light and perky mood, not without having warmly thanked. Solve my problems had proved very simple, finally, and asked me to do a quarter of an hour.

We approached the destination, a small house along a road leading to the sea, what would have sandy soil and pines that would draw the line jagged, sweet and nervous at the same time, the western horizon, as they do all along this coastline. The drive was not long before we passed near a cemetery, and my passenger told me as he was handsome. I received while she was endowed with intellectual curiosity and aesthetic sensitivity I had not had the opportunity to see her before. She could get a closer look at places that do not invited, which seemed the very banality but offered some beauty to the observers who could take the time to watch them. The idea to propose that we stopped to visit him all crossed my mind too late, we had almost reached the house. I would have liked to visit with her and see with my eyes and in his presence what beauty was hers. It would surely have liked to see my interest and curiosity for its affinity, then perhaps would we could just postpone the trip a little cemetery, but this never took place. Got home, I had more desire for her, even more eager to caress the skin of his shoulders, the nape of her neck and her thighs, gently slide my hands under her dress and walk her belly, all the flesh tender and soft that did not cover her underwear, and feel the pleasure and the desire rising in her patient, his head in his hands and surrender to walk against me, and soon her dress was at our feet, and my hands gently then harder would have taken her beautiful round breasts under her bra and soon out of the bra party ground join the dress, before my mouth to take up her nipples hardened and taut while my fingers would slowly and eagerly ventured between her thighs, where they would have preceded my tongue when we would lie on the ground. Arrived at the house when I was eager to silence her, she thanked me for having brought her here, and asked me if I wanted something, a very friendly manner which did nothing to make the love among my desires possible she inquired and she intended to satisfy. I agreed to apply a cool drink, the bus fast enough for we exchanged a few commonplaces sudden, and I continued alone and in reverse the route that took me there with him, a few minutes earlier.

CosmoZ, Claro, setbacks and fantasy novel Where the tornado

Today, August 18, finally released in bookstores CosmoZ with a Z capitalized, the new novel by Claro ( Actes Sud ). For me, one of the most anticipated books of the season . I was fortunate and privileged to be able to read already (and I warmly thank Claro for this). After reading, I am pleased to write that my expectations have not been disappointed: this is an extraordinary book.

Press articles devoted to it (hopefully many) to qualify the novel world, which is not inappropriate, they probably indicate that it is a unique book in the literature in French - and my faith, my knowledge very sketchy in this area does he know any equivalent. If we wanted to quickly describe the book and summarize the story it tells could try this: it is the history of life on earth, during the first half of the twentieth century, born of the characters in a famous fairy tale Children, The Wizard of Oz (1900), L. Frank Baum, which were made even more famous by the Hollywood adaptation that was in 1939, directed by Victor Fleming. Dorothy Gale, Toto, Oscar Crow (Scarecrow), Nick Chopper (the tin woodsman) Elfeba (the wicked witch of the west), Avram and Ei'zik (Two Munchkins twins) are in Europe and America, although other dimensions of themselves are in the Land of Oz, but not necessarily know it from the outset. Obviously, when you said that, we said nothing we did not have a clue what this book may well be unique.

The world was actually born while Baum's characters and that they lived their adventures in fantasy sour for children, while there was still the story became a classic in American homes and when MGM decided to 'into a movie event. The world continued to exist while the film became a worldwide hit with replicas of all known by heart. Meanwhile, the world really existed, he practiced eugenics, industry, aviation and armament, it had been two world wars, totalitarianism and gave himself invented the atomic bomb. Yippee! It tells the world that CosmoZ a crazy way, he says not to forget the land of Oz, the possibilities to change the world by being carried away by a tornado and find themselves beyond the rainbow trout.
CosmoZ tells all the magic of the Wizard of Oz , conditions which saw the birth of the tale and those who have witnessed the birth of film, and the appalling number of butcher shops that were the first fifty years of the twentieth century. CosmoZ recounts all the drama of his characters, horror technical, intellectual and military of history, fantasy and ironic to the magical world of fairy tales. Literature in French has already known through novels and as close to a large extent the horrors of the twentieth century (recently include The Kindly Ones by Jonathan Littell (stirring a shorter time period), Demon Thierry Hesse, and excellent Zone Mathias Énard), but none to my knowledge had added to its material and shape the fantasy and supernatural magic.

From the first chapter of the novel, the character of L. Frank Baum is programmatic: breeder hens Hamburg ceremonial, shaken by nightmares, keenly interested in barbed son recently developed, a journalist calling the massacre of Indian tribes for the good of America, and future creator of the Wizard of Oz . Remarkable creatures and technical harmful social hygiene and management of human populations through mass murder, bizarre fantasies and aesthetic touches.

In CosmoZ , while Dorothy, with her dog Toto, swept away by a tornado from Kansas to the Land of Oz, two of the Munchkins who come to him there to party, to immediately following its landing, are symmetrically away from their country of Munchkins to fail somewhere in Central Europe in the early twentieth century. Avram and Ei'zik is their name, interchangeable twins will soon be recruited a troupe of freaks with which they will stay in Vienna and then travel the United States. Conversely, the United States came to go to Europe and participate in one way or another to the First World War, three young people from Kansas: Dorothy Gale, a volunteer nurse, Oscar Crow and Nick Chopper soldiers.

Dorothy Gale has been swept away in the Land of Oz, although it has left the U.S. for travel to Europe, not the Land of Oz, it need only compare the colors in order not to confuse them. Oscar and Nick Crow Chopper went as cannon fodder, while at the same time they have not left the land of Oz. Moreover, before Dorothy does release, neither one nor the other had left the aisle yellow brick road, one impaled in the middle of a field not to scare crows and the other paralyzed by rust against a tree he was only half cut. As for the two Munchkins, we do not know if they are still the Land of Oz while they play freaks in Central Europe, but has anyone ever managed to count all those Munchkins for whether they were full?

Yet the Land of Oz is real, it is not an imaginary country for these characters is the country where they come, they know it or not, and since come, they remember it or not, although it must be somewhere. There CosmoZ , Claro's novel, he also becomes a primary way and a fantasy, not just a novel which speaks of fairy tales and musicals with witches and magic, but a hallucinatory dance impossibilities made : Double simultaneous failure of Avram and Ei'zik - that of being a while they are both and equally that of being two when they are only one - and the impossibility of Dorothy to have stayed in the land of Oz in the time she never left Kansas for Illinois and the war in Europe, where she and Nick meet Oscar Crow Chopper, but survivors still alive, however impossible a shells, that their lives never set foot nor an unhappy one damn bolt of Oz but yet come true. For each of them everything is double, and any is mixed by the ravages of the mad tornado passed in Kansas or the Land of Oz of Oz to Europe. The tornado is in the Land of Oz and the history of the twentieth century and is as much about the two, taking them together, it is both the two and two together, double speed and efficiency by double aporia form of obscure and extremely powerful, like what in the poem by TS Eliot included in the novel, is the very nature of the between : the incomprehensible connection between causes and their consequences - and probably in the novel between the causes and consequences arising therefrom - the dark crazy character double unit: Between conception and creation, between emotion and response, falls the shadow. [...] Between the idea and reality, between the movement and the action falls the shadow. [...] Between the desire and the spasm, between the power and existence, falls the shadow [CosmoZ, p.158 - excerpts from TS Eliot's Hollow Men (The Hollow Men) , 1925] .

The Land of Oz and the adventure never ended and constantly replayed they live is underlying reality to the characters CosmoZ , he and she who determines the course of their existence on earth, but on the other side of the tornado, the rainbow sky or mirror, c ' is the horror that their version will be played, and it is themselves who held the leading roles. It's good that they interpret their history, but the wonders and happy endings of Oz are changed on earth fates of atrocity: radiation, trades monsters, mutilations, massacres, deportations, nuclear explosions.

This is the reverse of the phantasmagoria that is the price of the hopes and dreams, innocence and guilt is what men do to men, with the help of a little technology, tastes and entertainment the sake of hygiene.

Claro writing CosmoZ the back of the phantasmagoria phantasmagoria.

In Baum's tale, the world of Oz is a fairyland concentrated as real life can not possibly afford it, a world completely imaginary, colorful and magical ad nauseam, which is Gasoline outside real life. In the novel Claro, the earthly world of the twentieth century through the ground and characters from the Land of Oz. Bullied relentlessly along a relentless fate, dictated by the Baum tale, it is the characters who make magical dimensions, incredible and supernatural, as from another story, a tale figures who have been damned immersed in the story that to suffer the worst torments never find peace. They are the true historical violence that are brought to the dimensions of the story, through the characters' ability to endure all, since the full extent suffering from the first half of the twentieth century would be reported throughout the life of all individuals who suffer. To this must be behind the scenes of the story, a witch mad as Oz, illusionist bazaar and conductor of chaos, and quack satanic demonic demiurge, pulling the strings. And it takes Dorothy Gale, Oscar Crow, Nick Chopper, Elfeba, Avram and Ei'zik are characters and story remain to endure tremendous pain if repeated without passing away.

From beginning to end, the novel itself is a tornado, a furious mixture and pleasurable in which blend a variety of disparate details - from hypnosis to the chickens watches factories, through tumors language, Hoover vacuum cleaners and degeneration of protoplasm - and the tragic march of the history, when it found the technical means to show the Land of Oz in Technicolor ® and restore the big bang for use as a weapon of war and end the world as possible, even probable. Everything is made in a language Electrical and electrifying, but is integral with the mechanism of this crazy language vibrant and crazy which arise and fly sparks of beauty and wonder.

Nothing better than a few snippets - Random, because here we can rely on luck, each time to a find - to demonstrate the quality of invention, acid and brilliance of this language:

Thus the Oziens found temporary refuge in the belly moist Freaks , the new production at MGM, under the eye of the glassy operator B. Merritt Gerstad. That's where they s'improvisèrent several weeks during, extras disfigured phenomena faded, tenants of this unsightly darkened room where nobody knew exactly what was spent on ritual, what cult, monsters who came to power not only of body and voice but dreams, desires, wills, laughter suddenly changed to cry and mockery caught in its own trap, as if the essence of deformity had metamorphosed into air, perfume, and all that, by dint of breathing, felt a thrill worrying , their limbs twisted and corrupted by the actions they would do if ever, face replaced by another face with devious intentions, all attracted by the lights like moths, but not like blind men eager for a semblance of sunlight. ( CosmoZ , p.317)

promise us that someday we will produce ... in Oz.

In Oz? Singer repeats shine without leaving the slightest emotion.

Yes, wonderful country Oz, repeats Ei'zik without noticing the air suddenly worried about Perla.

All this vulgarity has Perhaps no other purpose than to disguise our obsession to survive. I look Perla. Marquise begs a pause that tells the reader his secret passion

This text is part of a series, Kill That Marquise! , which constitutes an episode. The entire series was broadcast, day after day and 150 episodes on the aptly named blog Kill That Marquise! The author has occasionally given way to others, the time of an episode (it happened twice, I think - on the occasion of " waterbed ). I had the pleasure of being the author of one of these episodes, that of March 5, 2010, which I reproduce below. We find that the characters and plots discussed in this text are those of the series as a whole, and that episode is not autonomous.

course I recommend reading the full this series foutraque policeman and weaving the adventures of a recently widowed marquise, a private detective before serving her late husband, the Commissioner responsible Lognon investigation into the death of the Marquis husband of Madame, etc.. It contains humor, twisted plots and literary games, where fiction and reality become blurred and are reversed.

more information can be found on Kill That Marquise! here and there .

-------------------

The Marquise which we say one day that is two days before she was out at seventeen hours, but only the day after the day that this episode takes place, breathed a little quiet at the end of day. Since then she despaired of finding in her luxurious home and Germanopratins that men were searching the Commissioner Lognon without consideration or discretion but with probable internal sarcasm, the Marquise gave it to higher authorities, imploring the narrator as God is addressed - that the believer than normal and afflicted widow would have considered a disgrace and exile blasphemy, but this day she does exceptionally refrain point, given the extreme circumstances where it was. One episode, "she begged, an episode in which she appears without, pity, it was an additional inconvenience inflicted. Coincidence or feminine intuition, it turns out that the Marquise tearful begged the grace of the stay precisely one of the few days when the narrator is not in the hands of the principal author of the series but to those of a guest spot. And the author of the day, perhaps sensitive to the plastic of the canopy remained beneficial (Yann-Erwan confirm the happy, boastful as are athletes, so proud of their victories in the tournament as their sexual conquests, and the other one gained from the admirable is their athletic mechanical tool), and considering that First, the Marquise had not actually been formed since only seventeen hours the day before she left her home, etc.. The author of the day easily imagine, then, that future episodes would surely oppose the Marchioness of thorny obstacles and many perils - consider for a moment the ominous shadow projected by the title of this series on its hapless heroine ... In short, the author of today as a beginning teacher who one day would have thought back to win the sympathy of his classes by appearing to them in a light friendly ( and then regret that until June, because knowing that he would have been better to assert authority immediately and firmly, to leave first show antipathetic to soften then), the author and therefore yields grant date to the widow Emma was born in Saint-Nazer Bôle an episode of respite. That's why it will be today issue of country-music song in French interpreted with acoustic instruments, as it was not so long practiced and valued in rural Quebec, and in most of francophone communities in Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan (the secret hobby of Madame la Marquise, from which it has opened only furtively Yann-Erwan, shortly before the guy disappears from playboy tennis player, a hobby that the Marquis himself - who until 'to the days flowed yesterday allegedly peaceful - largely ignored, he was very attentive to the sensitivities and exotic beauty of his wife [at the time the narrator actually provides to the Marchioness of scholarly developments and colorful stories about her guilty pleasure, but the author's own preference was to spare the reader, though it can of course supply it on request - please contact the author of this blog will forward]. Finally, the Marquise had found a little quiet at the mention of yoddles, banjos, and couplets in slang rigadoons furious. But, readers, narrators and authors, let us not be fooled: it is likely that all goes well the Marchioness has operated for most crafty differ very compromising revelations against him or her to, the kind that could challenge for example the actual time of its release the previous day seventeen hours.

what I expect to return (supplementary)

Since the note of 14 July , at which I list a few titles that I impatient - or I'm curious, at least - among those which appear in the literary season, I watched a video interview with Maylis of Kerangal, about his next book, Birth of a bridge , to appear August 26 in Vertical . The story of a California town in a fictional but familiar, at least in its performances, a reflection on the space around the consequences of the construction of a bridge and land that opens this way (it will be interesting cross this with the treatment that will Mathias Enard in Tell them about battles, kings and elephants ), work of art and the American imagination. It looks exciting, and I join the already among the books in the back calling me the most.
